The framing in this photograph is particularly great – I love the way the foreground mirrors the skyline behind. The balance between horizontal and vertical is especially striking. So much more than “just a snap-shot!”
I love the shape of this photo – the arch almost looks like a wave. The lines of the guardrail are the perfect horizontal parallel to the vertical lines of the skyline – and of course, the skyline is iconic. Beautiful and well done.
What an interesting photo, Ellen! I know we are in Manhattan here but there is something of an Islamic influence in the framing of 1 WTC and the skyline. And oh, those beautiful clouds! Well done!

A stunning composition as the viewer peers at the skyline through a Romanesque arch!
Beautiful and very interesting skyline photo.
