What a wonderful image – it reminds me of that quintessential illustrated New York novel, Time and Again, by Jack Finney. This photograph would be completely at home there – not a soul in sight, the sharp blacks and whites. Just terrific.
I love that the black of the statue really pops so much. Like a reminder that the world we all love and remember is still there, just maybe hidden a little bit. Beautiful!!

Thanks Thom. Whenever I’m in Central Park in the snow I feel like I’m walking into Time and Again, my favorite book!

There’s a peacefulness to this image, Ellen, with the angel gently watching over the pristine snow. Well done.
May she watch over our city.
“Snow brings a special quality with it—the power to stop life as you know it dead in its tracks.” Nancy Hatch Woodward
Ethel Merman would sing:
“There’s no angel
Like snow angel
Like no angel
I know……..”
She’s praying for us, I’m sure. We need all the help we can get!
This is so interesting. It should be on the cover of an Eric Larson books!
WOW, an amazing shot of such an iconic spot! Looks like you had the park to yourself, too. Beautiful.
Beautiful, but somber I like the reference
to the world we use to know and hope to see again soon.
I just want to tell you all that it did not feel somber to me at all. It felt incredibly beautiful and peaceful!
