LOVE the title to this photo (made me smile) and what a beautiful composition – from the bend of the land on both sides to the arch of the branches and the people sitting together. And is that ice on the surface or your classic sparkles on the water? Either way, I want to jump into this photo. Well done.
The soft colors of winter sun and the gently bending bare branches leaning toward the water make for a contemplative mood. The bare-armed figure seems inured to the cold, perhaps warmed by love.
Jacqueline and Simone, this is a photograph of Turtle Pond in Central Park, thus the title. In the back right, barely visible through the tree branches, is Belvedere Castle.
What a peaceful photograph, Ellen. I love the sparkling ice on the water and the way the tree on the left bends down toward the water. Well done!

I love your title! It got me thinking about what can be seen and what might lurk beneath the surface in such a tranquil scene.
Enjoying a date in the still of winter
Is so peaceful like…..well,
Looking for a turtle, snug in his turtle shell!
I love the essence of winter in this photo, and how it seems that these two are the only ones in the park.
