Great perspective here, Ellen! The life saving station in the distance stands watch no matter what the season. The image has the feel of a peaceful water color. I can almost hear the waves behind me… Well done!
Beautifully simple and inviting – love the sandy path to the sturdy station. Almost reminds me of a lighthouse. Definitely has a watercolor feel to it. Love it!
On a clear day you can see forever! Another serene and lovely view: a sandy path stretching far into the distance through the dune grass, under a cloudless sky punctuated by a homely structure.
There is SO much of Edward Hopper in this – the distance, the silhouette, the stark building in the distance, the broad sweeps of color. I can see this perfectly as a 24×36″ Ellen image on a law firm wall.

It stands like a beacon, against the clear blue sky, calling to those in need. I love the sandy footprints.
Not a soul in sight
The ordinary observer would say
But the person in the Tower
Would view and save a life many miles away….
This photo makes me long for a barefoot walk in the sand, something I didn’t get to do this summer. Lovely!

Lovely composition. So evocative of life at the shore.

This is a photo that reminds me of great walks we used to have at Jones Beach. Nice job.
