The beautiful stretch of sand and sky looks so fresh and serene. The gulls seem to be busy chatting on the beach now that the bathers are gone. A few lone people at the edge of the sea do not disturb the quiet mood.
Sad but true.
“The Walrus and the Carpenter were walking close at hand;
They wept like anything to see such quantities of sand:
If this were only cleared away,’ they said, it would be grand!'”
As the seasons turn from one to another
and the New Year has begun,
the empty lifeguard chair symbolizes for me
all of the empty chairs once occupied
by loved ones at my holiday table
and the memories I honor and so cherish
as I observe the High Holy Days of 5781!
May you all be blessed with good health and Peace
this and every year to come.
Great shot. Love the texture – the sand, clouds, seagulls, and even lifeguard chair feel almost touchable through the photo. Thankfully, beach season never ends!
Sorry for the late reply, Ellen. Great photo of the beach with its only true full time inhabitants – the seagulls! Love the soft, calming colors of the blue sky and beige sand. Makes me want to take a deep breath of the sea air and relax. Well done!
So far 2020
Is moving along with a whir.
If it weren’t for the seasonal reminders,
It all would be a blur!
It looks like the end of summer.

What a great minimalist image – I like that the colors are all largely flat. Very evocative!
