What a great photo, Ellen, and especially in black and white! I like the balance between the little girl and the immense sea, and wonder what is going through her mind as she looks outward, not realizing that so much lies beyond the horizon. Well done!
The loneliness of the long-distance gaze. The ocean and sun-strewn clouds seem to overwhelm the little girl, emphasized by her position in the corner of the composition.
