I love the balance between the spidery effect of the branches, and the prominent rays of the sun. People work for years to learn how to get that effect!

  2. Joann says:

    Great rays from the sun.

  3. Carole says:

A photo of hope! The sun’s nourishment to bring forth life to the barren branches. Great shot!

That’s worthy of a paintbrush! Soft and warm and dreamy. The rays along the green hillside make them appear like undulating cliffs.

  5. Jacqueline says:

It looks like the calm before the storm.

I actually said “YUM” looking at this photo – it’s deliciously beautiful. The rays of the sun with the lines of the branches, ripples of the water, and the horizon . . . soft and hazy and just gorgeous.

  7. Bruce says:

Such a peaceful and serene image, Ellen!Love the rays emanating from the sun and the delicate brushstrokes of the branches.

  8. Bernice says:

A lovely image, which despite the bright sun and the visible rays, appears as if seen through an early morning or late afternoon haze. Still and serene, even with the differing directions of the bare branches, sun’s rays, and water current.

Thank you all. The bare winter trees and the subtle outline of the hill beyond were reminiscent of Chinese landscape to me and made the photograph seem very painterly.

    I’d call this one, “Serenity.”
