You captured the end of autumn tree variance. Those trees that hold on to their firey beauty until the very last second and those that decide the heck with it, and drop their lovely leaves with the first strong breeze!

I love the matching red tree and hat, the lines of the structure in the background (bridge? walkway?) and the lines of the path and trees. Such a simple, quiet end-of-fall moment. Beautiful.

  3. Bruce says:

Love the crisp end of autumn scene, Ellen! Equally, I really like the subtlety of your geometry – the bridge running across the photo, river, riverbank wall and sidewalk on the diagonal and bare trees angled left and right. Lots for the eye to see. Well done!

One more post here for you, Ellen. I urge everyone to revisit your Philadelphia photos under Iconic City Series. Some great new photos added there including some comical ones like “Horses and Donuts!”

  5. Michelle says:

Love the red tree! Beautiful and peaceful.

  6. Bernice says:

Another wonderfully composed photo juxtaposing colors, movement and lines. The reds of the leaves and hat, the diagonals of the road and tree trunks, and the horizontals of the bridge lead the eye along the path the bicyclist will travel . Nice!
