I love the drama of the lion head in this one, almost regal in the middle of this chaotic city. Well done.
What a stunning horizon line and with the juxtaposition of the lion! An iconographic gem to represent New York.
Once again Goodman catches the City in an unexpected way.
Love the photograph, Ellen! I see this gargoyle as a fearless guardian of the waterway, watching over all who pass by. Beware!
Love the composition, very Dutch 17th C. low horizon. But that fierce lion wins my heart with his loud roar. A wonderful contrast with the delicate pastel sky and water.
What a great shot. Love the lion.
I concur with all the other comments about the guardian gargoyle! Love the details on NY buildings and you capture them in their larger context so well.
