Interesting! Is that a Beehive?
You sure got me guessing on this one (hard to figure size without a reference point). But, it looks soft & fuzzy – so, I’m going with ball of yarn?
So wonderfully abstract and so cool. Took me a good few minutes to believe it was a beehive! I love the textures of the hive, which looks almost like woven straw, against the texture of the wall. A great catch and well done.
It looks a bit like you are viewing a hornet’s nest from below (we had one attached to the exterior of our house), but your vantage point makes it a bit mysterious and surreal. A giant sea monster? A hidden cave? A Redon painting?
The swirl is reminiscent of a sea shell. Not sure what it is, though, cued by the title, I’m guessing it’s yarn. I like the mystery!
I’m stumped too. It looks like some kind of animal that’s curled in on itself and an eye at the very top looking out.
What a cool photo, Ellen! I’m going with Bernice’s comment. Amazing the perfection in this design. Good catch, and don’t get stung!
It is indeed a hornet’s nest. I found it to be so beautiful, with the sense of a wrapped textile with silvery threads, especially in contrast to the hard architectural elements surrounding it, that I thought it would make an interesting blog entry. Thanks for all of your comments!
