…With the rest of them
With the best of them
I can hold my head up high…

Such an interesting shot. I like the reflections of the parade behind him, and the colorful bag and police barricade next to him. I want to go up to him and ask if he’s wishing he could join in the merriment. Well done!
So, the question is: “What is he thinking?” Would it be:
Yay, we’re making progress
Or, now I’ve seen it all
Or, does this in any way effect my life
Or, I wish I were so slim and tall!
We’ll never know Bevy, but I love your poetry!
What a great “Ellen” shot with the reflections! I particularly appreciate that the image of the parade is seen through a window displayed with mannequins that appear to be running to join in the festivities. What a great juxtaposition with the man sitting, seemingly immobile and not really interested in the goings-on around him.
Well done!
What an interesting photograph, Ellen. Not your typical parade watcher, for sure! My first reaction was that he’s sitting on a Police barricade and his bandanna reminded me of a 1970’s protester. This could be an anti-establishment statement or – he’s just watching the parade!
The reflections of the legs in the window seem to echo those of the homeless man below. The plastic bag filled shopping cart adds a note of gayety to his serious contemplation. Or maybe he’s just found a good spot for a rest. Provocative and poignant photo!
