As a clueless man, it took me more than a few moments to “read” this photo and place it into context (and the title was no help to me at all…). Beautiful, textured image, and very different in proportion from your usual! Is this the first of a series?

I know what it is but it could seem to be an intestine! Weird and interesting photo of an old fashioned hat.

I had to enlarge the photo to see that this hat was on a bus traveling through a street probably in NYC. Unusual but fascinating photo. Makes you wonder where this person is going. Love the lines and color.

WOW! A fantastic and creative shot. I love what catches your eye, especially when it combines textures, colors, and the movement of lines. The gathers on this hat and their related shadows are dramatic. Reminds me of your photos of flowers. Thank you for sharing!

Great photo Ellen! I love a good mystery and this was perfect. We focus on the cloche (new word for me by the way!) and not until I pulled back did I realize where you were and what you had captured. Well done!

I was sitting behind this woman on the crosstown bus and I couldn’t stop looking at the soft linear details of her hat. She was sitting so still that it seemed almost sculptural to me. I was sure that by the time I got my camera out and on and focused that she would have moved, but she didn’t and I got my shot!

Rhythm and repetition in a lovely, warm hat.
